WEEK 12- FINAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

Personally I am really happy with my final performance, I remembered my choreography and also the facial expressions I had decided I wanted to show for each part. I also felt quite confident while I was dancing and I think this was reflected in my performance- perhaps this was to do with a panel/audience being present. The only thing I would do differently is alter the spacing, in my performance I ran out of space during the last phrase of the first section which I was quite unhappy about as I had never experienced this problem before. Aside from this I am satisfied with the other spacing issues I sorted out due to the feedback from my studio performance as this definitely enhanced my final performance.

After my studio performance I watched a video of my dance and I was quite pleasantly surprised at how happy I was with my choreography. In the beginning of the course I aimed to choreograph a piece that successfully conveyed my stimulus of schizophrenia through the use of choreographic devices and I feel I achieved that. One of the choreographic challenges I found was that I only choreographed to certain parts of the song and not in chronological order. When I had to come back to finish off the parts I didn't beforehand, I got stuck as I only had a limited amount of counts and it was quite difficult.

Throughout the course of the module, I really enjoyed documenting everything through my blog posts- it is interesting to look back at how I formed my final piece and what decisions I took to get there. It was also really nice to get feedback from my peers like what I could do to improve my work or make things clearer. The only thing I really struggled with was time management, I often found it difficult to get my blogs or vlogs done in a short amount of time so I took a really long time to complete my work. If I were to complete the module again I would make a time management schedule so that I could be more organised.
